NOTES FROM THE CALL:
This presentation will take you through a real story of building a PMO when projects are already running. In an ideal situation, it would be great to build a PMO ""by the book."" In an ideal world it would be best to start from scratch and follow the best practices to build a PMO on a solid foundation.
But, in the real world, situations are less than ideal. Perhaps, just like this story, you're building (or about to build) a PMO in an environment where everything is already running full steam ahead. It's like jumping on to a moving train! Things are already in motion. You've got to build a solid foundation while things are moving.
It's like taking control of a war that's already happening. The fighter jets are already scrambling, the tanks are already rolling, sirens are sounding, bullets are flying, and all of the generals have higher priorities in their own battles. What's a new commander to do?
This presentation will be helpful to people trying to raise the effectiveness of a PMO, people considering starting a PMO, and those desiring to better understand PMOs
